Not Today

Posted: January 8, 2013 in Uncategorized

Since starting this blog almost two months ago, I have tried to make it a point to post at least every week. Of course, since then, I have been unable to live up to this commitment because my body is freaky.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to post this week (minus this one), possibly the next, because, well, I’m sick. I’m not writing this just for sympathy, but only because I want to let you all know why there will not be a post. Cystitis, possible flu, cancer. Yeah, not sitting very pretty currently.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next post. God bless.

Father God, touch Nick’s body. Strengthen him and restore his healt. Your word says in Jeremiah that our wounds are healed and our health restored to us. Heal and restore Nick according to your word. You are a faithful God and your words never return void. You spoke life and healing to Nick, we claim that word you gave to Nick and thank you for your faithfulness to carry out what you have promised. Thank you for strength in Nicks body, thank you for healing, thank you for building Nicks faith and restoring him. Devil, get your hands off of Nick, illness doesn’t come from the Lord but from you. We rebuke you Satan and demand that you flee in Jesus name. Thank you Lord for the constant protection over Nick and your guiding hand on him and the giftings you have given him to use for your kingdom. I am excited to see all the ways you will use Nick for your glory, be with him now, touch him with your healing hand in Jesus mighty name!

This morning I woke up at 4:00 with the memory of my mother’s last moments on earth. I spoke to Jesus about being ready to meet Him and how my only concern is leaving my children behind. He reminded me that His is able to take care of them. I pray that my life has been enough to plant the seeds of Christ Jesus and that I planted on fertile ground. Then, He blessed me with meeting you through your blog. You have touched my soul in ways no words can describe. I am grateful for you and your ability to share. God has given you a gift that is perhaps greater than you will know on this earth, but some day He will show you just how much you have touched the lives of others. I am thankful that you are obedient to God’s calling on your life. Thank you for sharing God’s love!

    Nick,
I live with chronic pain, every day for the past 30+ years. The not-so-good days are spent talking with God. A lot of talking with God! I lift others up in prayer and it helps to keep the focus away from my own pain and weakness. Living with Lupus has been its own war and I fight the battle daily. It cost over $1.24 million to put my face back together after a severe childhood beating (one of many). Except for the scars on my neck and for some lingering nerve damage, one would never know looking at my face now. I am grateful for skilled surgeons. I am grateful for every morning that I awaken to face another day. I had to have my gall bladder removed after this latest 8 month-long Lupus flare-up and it is negatively impacting both my liver and left kidney now as well. I am grateful for wise doctors. I am grateful for medications that ease the pain and reduce the damage.

Not comparing my story to yours, Nick.
Gently reminding you that you are not alone in this battle, not alone in this war.

Life. What a precious gift. We may never know the “why” but we will always know the “Who”. Seek Your Creator. Seek God. He is the key to answering the “why”.

Placing the healing blood of Jesus upon you and interceding for your continued healing. I speak strength, hope, peace into your life. May you find that still, small voice of courage that says, “I will rise to face another day, I will get back on my feet again. I can. I will.”
